My favoritye holiday it's October 31st. I like it because since a child i really liked to wear costums. But when i was 15 years old i knew a part of my family who were living in Mexico and celebrate this day in a different way: This holiday doesn't call Halloween, it is the Day of Dead or de All Sanit's day and talks about a form to honorate the people who's not alive right now.
We dance and sing songs about the conection we got with the sky and the ground when we die, and talk about de people who is dead and thei spirits with happiness and love. There are games and activities that show this idea: We paint our faces and wear dresses with a lot of colors and flowers who represent the new born that we live when we die. The kids make little sculptures of Catrinas with a lot of colors and details for decoration in this big party. We put candles in the ground and celebrate a lot.
This is a very popular celebration in Mexico, they believe that the gates of heaven are opened at midnight on october 31, and the spirits of all deceased children are allowed to reunite with their families for 24 houirs. On november 2, the spirits of the adults come down to enjoy the festivities that are prepared for them.
It's a very beautifull holiday and a part of my family make it since 2013, when start to live here. I think that's a very good form to see the transformation we make when our lifes end.
In 2013 was the best October 31sr because i start to learn a live this festivitie in this way.

auto biography
Hi, my name is Manuela Godoy, I was born in February 4th, 1998 in Santiago, Chile. I have lived in Ñuñoa since 2002, with my mom and my brother Vicente, before my parents separated in 2000. When i was a kid, since ever, i was very fidgety and naughty so my mom send me to a dance class in the Espiral Dance Center (now it is knowing like Universidad Academia de Humanismo Cristiano too) and with this decision i started to use my energy with a focus about my body and the movement that i can generate. This was in 2006, when i was eight years old and i studed in Manuel de Salas, a School in ñuñoa. The next year i move on to another School in ñuñoa called Eduardo Frei Montalva (it was horrible, but i learn a lot about under appeal education in 2007).
When i was in 7th grade i move on to the last School where i end high school, it calls ISUCh and is an artistic School from Universidad de Chile in Alameda, near from metro Los Heroes.
In 2012 my mom left the house in ñuñoa for work reasons and started to live in Coyhaique, a city in the south of the country. When it happens, was a very dark moment, i got really ill and sad because i was a little girl and until that year everything in my life was so easy and comfortable... but with the pass of time and a little help from my own survival instinct, i understand that decisions and changes like that, got with them a lot of benefits. I live alone with my brother and we are very good friends actually.
Now, my mom live in Castro, Chiloe and we go to see her every time we can (like holidays or long weekends). It is far, but nearest than Coyhaique, where was very difficult to go continually.
I still living with my brother (and our cat, Jacu) in ñuñoa, we are really happy.
